Changes in the General Curia

During the General Council meeting last November, the General Minister together with his Council made the following appointments:

1.     General Secretary of the Order – Br. Damian Philip Pereira (PR Tamil Nadu South, India). Br. Damian, who will take up this new position on January 1, 2022, has held the position of head of the Statistics Office since 2009 and Vice-Secretary General since 2011. He will replace Br. Clayton Jaison Fernandes (PR Goa, India) who has held the position of General Secretary since January, 2013.

2.     Vice-Secretary General of the Order – Br. Michele Mottura (PR Piedmont, Italy). Br. Michele, who will take up this new post in January 1, 2022. He is currently the Guardian of the fraternity of the General Curia since December 2020.

3.     Secretary of the Office of International Economic Solidarity – Br. Justino Sánchez Durán (CU Mexico-Texas). Br. Justino, who will take this new position on January 1, 2022, arrived at the General Curia in June 2021. He currently holds the office of General Treasurer of the Order since September 2021. He replaces Br. James Donegan (PR New York-New England, USA) who has served as Secretary of the same office since August 2015.

4.     Statistics Office - Br. Suresh Mahji (PR St. Fidelis, North India). Br. Suresh has served as associate for the Office of International Economic Solidarity in the General Curia since August 2019.

We congratulate and wish well the brothers who will assume their new responsibilities, and we cordially thank Br. Clayton and Br. James for their years of service at the General Curia.
