The Analecta in Digital Format

We are pleased to announce that the digital version of the Analecta continues to grow more complete. As of the beginning of 2022, 86 volumes are already available.

Access to this digital collection can be found on the website of the General Curia in the reserved section – controlled access for registered friars. Issues from 1997 to present are currently available. And we have already started making the first 60 issues available, i.e. the years 1885 to 1924. Over the next 6 months more numbers will be added successively, until by the end of June 2022, with God's help, all the material will be available to all the friars.

The files were formatted in high resolution; this allows for comfortable reading, both on the computer screen and in print. Because of this, the PDF files are quite large (around 1GB each), so it may take some time to download them from the server, depending on your internet speed.

The Analecta Ordinis Fratrum Minorum Capuccinorum (Analecta OFMCap) is the official publication of the Order since 1884 that documents the life of our Order; it is published by the Capuchin General Curia. The age of the Internet is now in full swing, and the possibility for using cyber-technology is ever before us. Accordingly, we are finally able to present to the friars of the Order a database of all the issues of Analecta from 1884 (first issue published) to the present day in digital format.

The material will be available as PDF files, with the OCR text recognition function. Thanks to this, the material can be searched expeditiously using the Ctrl + F (search) function. The ability to access all volumes in electronic format can be of great help not only for our brothers given to studying the history of the Order, but also for those who simply want to familiarize themselves with some of the events that have been recorded in the pages of Analecta.

We remind you that only Capuchin friars in perpetual vows have access to the reserved area on the website www.ofmcap.org. Each brother can register personally by filling out the registration form on the site - https://www.ofmcap.org/en/profile?view=registration.

In case of problems with registration, please contact the Communications Office of the General Curia directly at [email protected] Once the identity of the applicant has been verified and the registration updated, the site administrator will provide access to all the materials posted by the General Curia in the reserved area.
